Some staff may appear non‑compliant due to the device or browser they are using to access Learn, rather than a lack of effort to complete training.
Our eLearning courses are designed to work best on desktop or laptop computers using supported browsers. Courses include audio, interactive elements, and completion tracking that may not function reliably on all devices.
Supported devices and browsers
- Windows desktop or laptop using Google Chrome (recommended)
- Mac desktop or laptop using Safari, Edge or Chrome
- Up‑to‑date tablets (e.g. iPad using Safari, Android tablet using Chrome)
While courses may open on mobile phones, this is not recommended. Mobile devices often cause issues such as:
- Content not displaying correctly
- Buttons or interactive elements being difficult to use
- Scrolling problems
- Audio or animations not playing as intended
- Progress or completion not being saved
Because mobile phones vary widely, technical support cannot guarantee troubleshooting or retrieval of lost completions when problems occur on these devices.
Manager action
- Confirm whether the staff member has access to a suitable desktop or laptop device during work hours.
- Where mobile access is the only option, support the staff member to access a Salvos device to complete training.
- Encourage the use of Google Chrome and ensure the browser is up to date.
- Remind staff to always use the EXIT option when stepping away so progress is saved.
